Hi Atty Ong and everyone,

As far as I can remember, my husband took most of those tests plus hbv-dna test which is the ultimate test to identify if the hepa b virus is reactive or non-reactive, if he has normal liver functions or abnormal liver functions due to hepa b. The result of that final test would take a month usually to come out. Buti na lang, we got it after 2 weeks and it resulted to hepa b non-reactive and the specialist gastro doctor at Makati Med cleared him as having a healthy condition and no need for treatment. But it was also stated there that he needs to have a good diet and exercise and monitor his health regularly. I think that would be good enough for the consultant physicians. That's why having all the tests done before submitting your medical certificates to the VO can be advantageous. It is just very expensive nga lang.

Hi Jardjdk,

Dr. Peralta is considerate naman. In fact, she advised us to ask for a preliminary report from the gastro specialist if di aabot yung result ng hbv dna test ng hubby ko, buti na lang umabot naman.

Atty Ong: Yup, you could use your health card naman. In my case, I was not able to use it because the doctor at Makati Med was not accredited by the health card I have so we paid for all the P45k medical exams and tests. Glad that it's all done.

Hi Jarjdk,

In our case, we both took extra tests coz we both had elevated liver enzymes level. Mas magastos pa nga in my case coz I was asked to take so many tests such as insulin-resistance coz I had gestational diabetes, liver ultrasound, ferretin, etc. to check why it is elevated considering that I do not have hepa b. In the end, I tested negative for all the tests so I was cleared and the doctor dismissed it as can be due to fatty liver. My husband did not have his liver ultrasound or scan and was not asked to do so. If the partner who does not have hepa b would have normal level of liver enzymes and normal also in other results such as the x-ray, he or she would not be required to take extra tests anymore.

Hi Arlene, (and to all of you guys under this topic)

I just arrived here in Auckland a month ago! I'm under the Family Stream Policy.

Anyways, about the Medical that we are submitting at NZIS for completion of requirements....is it really the Peralta (only) is assigned to you guys? Because on my case, I have chosen St. Lukes Ext. Clinic (Bocobo St, Ermita). And I have found out that it's more convenient and less expensive there. It only cost me 8K PESOS flat...no other immunizations or whatsoever. The result of all the lab tests and full med exam will be ready for pick-up after 3 days.

But my gosh, my husband also took his med exam at Peralta hehehe....hindi ko sya ginaya kasi I'm really takot sa mga injections na yan hahaha! And you're right guys, my husband med lasted for about 3 weeks if I'm not mistaken...kasi last year pa po yun.

Pls ask some confirmation muna po kung Peralta lang talaga pwede kayo. If so, konting tyaga na lang po...you need lots of patience...maganda naman po ang kapalit lahat ng pag-hihirap natin!

Goodluck to you guys,
Marisol
