Hi Sailorgirl,
I do agree with what you've said, thats why I asked my consultant about this matter stating the Dec. 2005 policy. I'm just awaiting his reply to my query.

Orion, no idea yet on who made the complaint to NZIS Wellington.

we wrote Sue Shen re: global priorities. below is her answer:
Dear Renand,
Thank you for your message, please see the below answer from our branch manager.
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your inquiry.
Each year the New Zealand Government approves the New Zealand Immigration Programme. This programme details how many people will enter New Zealand as permanent residents each year and what percentage of those people will come from the different categories available such as skilled migrant, family, refugee etc.
The Immigration Act provides for the Department to prioritise these applications to ensure the New Immigration Programme is met in accordance with the Governments decisions. This means from time to time that Global Priorities are shifted to ensure the Immigration Programme is met as required.
In most cases for the Philippines this simply means a small delay in completing some applications, this does however provide more time for those that are required to sit the IELTs test.
If you receive a valid job offer in the mean time you are advised to inform us immediately so that we can ensure the application is afforded the appropriate priority.
I hope this answers your inquiry, during this short break in processing I have assigned a full time staff member to monitor and maintain all applications on hand, please feel free to communicate with this staff member (Sue Shen) should you have any further questions.
I can assure you that your case officer will be in touch with you again in the near future when processing recommences, no decisions will be made without first asking for your comment.

Yours sincerely,

Darrin Curtis
Branch Manager
Shanghai

HONESTLY, WE ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH HER ANSWER. HINDI PA RIN CLEAR WHAT SHE MEANT BY GLOBAL PRIORITIES. BAKIT NAMAN IBANG NZIS BRANCH LIKE BKK & BEIJING CONTINUE TO PROCESS PINOYS APPLICATIONS?
4TH PARAGRAPH MENTIONED "SMALL DELAY" ??? DUH??? I DONT THINK 11 MOS. CAN BE CONSIDERED ONE. & "PROVIDES MORE TIME TO SIT THE IELTS?" e what if all necessary documents has been comlplied?

do we have any other option?

hi catherine,

we have received the same reply from Sue Shen. napaka general ulit ng sagot nila. bakit ayaw nilang sabihin kung ano ang nagyari kay frances wu?

11 months cannot be considered a short delay.

Friends,

Hello

The principal applicant is required to attain a band of 6.5. If you have not met that try again, I heard the re-take rule has been changed so you can do the IELTS again ASAP.

Otherwise why not just povide other means of proving that you are proficient in English?

Hello

Question?

Answer to questions
1. They will interview the applicant even if they got 7.5 in ielts. Me and my wife got 7.5 in IELTS but still we are required to attend the interview in Bangkok. Ielts score has nothing to do in the exemption of interview. Exemptions are job offer etc..

2. I never heard a principal who score 6 in IELTS granted a wtr. Maybe that is the exemption. Baka naman yung spouse niya ang principal. Or maybe during the interview, the candidate satisfies the VO with regards to his/her ability in english.

Thanks for the Answers.

Btw the prepurchase of ESOL is only for non-principal applicants like your spouse and children. A princopal applicant has to pass IELTS if required by his VO and if he fails he cannot prepurchase ESOL.

I see, so kahit pala mataas yung qualification nang isang applicant no bearing pa rin kasi pag nag fail siya sa ielts automatic ma de-deny pala sya.
so yung ielts pala yung pinaka mabigat na basis nila para pumasa sa visa screening. sayang naman yung gastos at ma deny na lang because of the ielts.

It's been a while since somebody posted on this subject. Just wondering if there is any update on FW's and SG's applicants. I have not received any "global priority" letter from Shanghai. It's been 3 months after my interview. Did everyone under FW and SG receive the global priority letter?
