Hi Search,
im sorry it's only now that I find time to browse thru the net and be able to answer your question. I hope by now you have already received the invitation for your interview with frances wu.. when we were still in the phils. i always make sure that I follow up directly to here eventhough we have hired immigration consultant there. I always send email to frances and sue shen to follow up my status of application..they reply as well to my queries..i think there is nothing wrong in following up, just do it at least once a month. If you see my signature below, it took us a year before we were interviewed after we lodged our ITA, kaya it pays if you follow up.
well, goodluck to you and dont lose hope...GodBless

Hi!
Until now unfortunately the immigration still hasn't called us for interview. I have followed up with Ms. Frances Wu this month and her answer is that our documents are still for processing and we wait for further advise from them. It's been 1yr two months now since we submitted our ITA. Medyo naiinip na rin ako. By the way, what's your line of work there. Baka naman kase hindi masyadong in demand pa ung work ko dyan (I am working as a secretary in an international organization here in Manila)kaya hindi pa nila ma approve ang aking papers. But I am only assuming, siguro hindi pa will ni Lord na this time ako makaalis. Buong family ba kayo umalis? Sorry ha medyo makulit ako.
I'm hoping for the best this year. Sana meron nang linaw.
Thank you for your time. Sana hindi ka magsawa. |

hello!! I am new to this forum. MY VO is also frances Wu but my question is more on the NZQA full assessment rather than on the VO.
Here is a backgrounder of my situation.
I Got 140 points in my EOI which included bonus points for qualifications in an area of absolute skills shortage.. In my EOI, I claimed points for my master's degree gained abroad in a school included in the List of Recognized Qualifications.
When I was issued an ITA last November 19, my VO told me that my qualifications need to undergo NZQA full assessment before it can be lodged. The SMC checklist attached to the ITA stated the following: If you do not have an offer of Skilled Employment and you are claiming Bonus points for a qualification or work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage (LTSSL) you will need to provide a full NZQA assessment of your qualification showing comparability with LTSSL.
I emailed my VO immediately and argued that my master's degree was gained in an institution included in the LRQ and therefore I don't need an NZQA full assessment as the policy states so.. She emailed back saying that there is no need for a Full assessment at this stage.. She just needs my certificates and transcripts for the moment.
My question is, Is there really a need for me to undergo an NZQA full assessment? I am hesitant to ask this again to my VO coz she already told me that there is no need at this stage.. What I am worried about is her word ..at this stage.. It might mean that she would eventually require a full assessment..
I really need a clarification on this so that I will know what to do next. Thanks in advance.. |

hi sheila and search! this is regarding my parents' application for PR to NZ. My dads EOI was selected Sept 2005 and his VO is also Frances Wu. We received an email from her last month for my dad's updated SSS papers. Now our agency is saying that they already have all the original documents we previously submitted from the embassy. how long have you guys been applying?
we are also hoping and looking forward for their interview date.

hi, we were just interviewed by Ms. Frances Wu this morning, the interview went out okay for me. She said it will take until 3 months before a visa can be issued.
Good luck to all of us! |

Hello, majority of the questions were asked to my husband since he is the principal applicant. He was asked how he is going to apply his skills in New Zealand, has he tried looking for a job, why from other countries did he consider New Zealand as the country to work in and migrate to. Basically these are the focus of the other questions.
She asked me what my plans are when I get to New Zealand and if I tried looking for a job already.
We passed our documents January last year but we filed our EOI in June of 2006.
Hope these helps. Did she give you a notice of interview already? |

hi celine,
yes after approval of EOI, they will send you the ITA then after lodgement of ITA you wait a couple of months for the interview. In my case I waited 18 months for my interview thru phone then after 3 days they sent me the WTR application.
---------------------------------
Lodge ITA : November 2006
Interview : 18 March 2008
WTR Application : 21 March 2008 |

now i know that the next step to look forward to would be the interview with the VO. is that really the case for almost all application? 18 months is really long add to it the fact that you are waiting endlessly for the result. are you already in NZ? |

Hi Celine,
I'm still here in Manila. Immigration informed us last week that they already received our passports and documents.
------------------------------------------
Hi Shiemarie,
How long did you wait for your visas to arrive? Immigration has told me last week 14 April that they already received it. Pag binalik ba nila passports me tatak na visa na?
Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you soonest. |
