Hi, I am coming to nz in feb for a year. We have working visa's and plan to travel both islands whilst working. Obviousley we will need a bank account, but everywhere i have looked so far requires a permanant address, which we will not have as we are travelling. Does anyone have any suggestions as where to look? Is there any special account that cater for backpackers?

No there is no special bank. Did you try TCP for a address ( http://www.travellersnz.com/Default.Asp?Doc=MF )? "we also know that it can be hard to get by without a permanent address for your employers, bank and various other people to send your important stuff to..."
Maybe travelex can help also( http://www.travelex.co.nz )I used them to open a bank account in the UK before I left New Zealand, maybe they have a similar deal for people comming from the UK. |
