I am going to study in New Zealand from next year. I have applied to universitys in both Dunedin and christchurch. I really like to ski and snowboard, and I want to live as close as possible to the mountains. Could anybody please tell me wich city that lies closest to the ski resorts in the south island? I've tried to look on the map, but it was a bit hard to understand how far it actually is..
Thanks a lot!! |

Hi elianne, Christchurch - Porter Hights is just over a hour away, Craigieburn - Mt Cheeseman and Mt Hutt are about 1 1/2 hours.
From Dunedin the closest are about 4 1/2 - 5+ hours away (Queenstown, Wanaka, Remarkables etc). The ones closest to Dunedin are apparently (none skier here) better quality. |
