I plan to tramp the Heaphy independently and would like my excess gear to meet up with me at the end. I plan to start at Karamea (near Westport) and end at Collingwood (near Nelson). Intercity bus won't take unaccompanied items. Can you recommend anything?

You may have to look into freight companies, maybe Westport to Nelson and have them store your gear at the Nelson. As bus and shuttle companies generally don't do storage. You could also try and contact http://www.ubd.co.nz/company-profiles/129533/ if they can't they may point you in the right direction. Or some of the companies at http://www.karameainfo.co.nz/transport.html
