Raukumara Range
The Raukumara Range offers some of the remotest and wildest areas to adventure in the North Island. If you want to go tramping or mountain-biking check out the Raumumara Forest Park pamphlet or the Waioeka Gorge Scenic Reserve pamphlet which are both available from DOC. If you're lucky you'll get to spot the rare and endangered blue duck. The more common Hochstetter's Frog also finds its home within the park.
