Stayed in the hostel on two separate nights, kept awake until 2:30 am on both occasions! If you aren't up for a party and just want a nights sleep then do not stay at this hostel, the noise levels were unbeleivable; the hostel bar seem to have a band on most nights. Also, there is an outdoor bar/club right outside, and your bedroom window faces the stage!! Add to this the most rude and ignorant staff I have ever met and this hostel is a backpackers nightmare!!

We were there on 3 separate occassion in September 2003 and was given a room on the 3rd floor. A bit cold, heater not a big help. Yeah and free 'piped' music from the pub below. Anyway, it was a pleasant stay anyway, the courteous staff made the difference. A place to consider if you're not too fussy and want a central location.

I stayed here and it was clean, centrally located and so forth, but the woman on reception was an absolute troll. And it didn't have the friendliest atmosphere. But it was okay.

I have stayed here a few times over the last 12 months. They are now called base Backpackers. They noise from the bar can be a little too much, but if you can't beat the noise, go join them. The staff are lovely. Great location, and resonable price

I had to work 3 and a half hours to pay my accomodation while others could work a bit more for money and they only paid 13 dollars for the accomodation a day. What a rip off!! Not helpful at all. I am so angry cos I didnt had money and nowhere to go. Luckely it was only 2 days. 2days of hell.. Most of the staff is not friendly with some exceptions of course.. Not worth coming to this stupid hostel
