I stayed at the Duke backpackers, when it was freshly renovated by new ownership, and painted bright purple. It was early Feb of 2004.
I found the hosts to be very kind and the hostel to be very homey and accomodating, with comfy beds, and nice colorful rooms. I hope to be back some day to see how they'r doing down there... :)
